Fibre FAQ & Info

What is fibre internet?

Fibre internet sends data through a fibre optic cable in the form of light. That's right - your data travels at nearly the speed of light! Fibre optic cables are strong and don't degrage in the way traditional copper wires do. And because they are buried in the ground, there is no interference from trees or bad weather.

How does it compare to satellite internet?
Our fibre is 5-10x faster than satellite internet and provides up to 10x lower (better) latency.
What is latency?
Latency is the time it takes for data to travel from point A to point B and back again. You can think of it as how responsive your internet is. The lower the latency, the better your internet experience. High latency causes issues like "lag" in gaming for example. Fibre connections have incredibly low latency.
